Fulton Junior High School FOR Club Organizes Acts of Kindness

FULTON – Several Fulton Junior High School students continue to show selfless acts of kindness by initiatives they create through the school’s FOR Club.

FOR Club (Friends of Rachel Club) is an extension of Rachel’s Challenge, a proactive approach to school violence and bullying which seeks to create a safe learning environment for students.

Recent club projects include Snowvember, in which club members collected new or gently-used socks and winter wear for families who seek assistance from Catholic Charities of Oswego County.

The most recent effort was a Letters to Santa writing campaign.

FOR Club members show an array of letters they had fellow students write for a campaign in which Macy’s will donate $1 to the Make-A-Wish Foundation for every letter received.

Club members encouraged students in homerooms to write letters to Santa, which will be sent to the Make-A-Wish Foundation, and Macy’s will donate $1 for every letter received.

A total 436 letters were written.

Upcoming FOR Club projects include a Valentine’s Day flower delivery to residents of Michaud Residential Health Services in Fulton and a fundraiser for the Oswego County Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals.

Assistance on projects included support from teachers Lisa Catalina, Kim Howard, Melanie Groff, Chris Anzalone, Angela Turck and Amanda Hurlbutt.
