Greenleaf Runs for 5th Term as Hannibal Supervisor

Ron Greenleaf is running for another term as Town of Hannibal Supervisor. He is running on the Conservative line. Ron says it has been an honor to see that all the residents are treated fairly and with respect by those people representing the Town and a privilege to oversee the Town’s finances. He will continue to work for the people of Hannibal by striving to keep taxes to a minimum. As everyone knows the past few years have been a challenge economically. He says he doesn’t need to tell you all the cost of maintaining your homes and way of life. He has been a lifelong registered Conservative. The Conservative Party values are a way of living for him: limited government involvement in one’s affairs, family, God and country along with responsible fiscal dealings.

He believes in our forefathers words of advice, “Well done is better than well said” by Ben Franklin and “I’m a great believer in luck, and I find the harder I work the more I have of it,” by Thomas Jefferson. Ron is committed to doing a job and gives 100%. He says he has never promised anything other than to do the Supervisor’s job to the best of his ability and treat everyone equally.

As supervisor he has worked with the town board, county legislatures, our state assemblyman, and state senators on obtaining grants to improve the town. With this money, we have been able to improve equipment at the town garage, recover McCausey Cemetery on State Rt. 176, helped Hannibal Center Cemetery with the cost of fencing. Other capital community improvements at the Municipal building include a skateboard park, pavilion and children’s playground, gazebo with walkway. Also, by working with Federal and State Agencies, USRDA and state EFC we have been able to obtain zero percent interest on a $6.2 million and $2 million grant to form water district 3. Working with members of the community and various boards of the town zoning codes have been revised and made more user friendly.

He has an open door policy to all town constituents with any concerns. He is fair, open minded, honest and hard working. He hopes to continue to serve the people of Hannibal.

Ron retired from Griffin Environmental Company in 2002 as Chief Electrician and Assistant Plant Supervisor after 31 years. He is a veteran of the U.S. Navy, also a member and trustee of Hannibal United Methodist Church, life member of the VFW, member of Hannibal American Legion and also secretary to the Oswego County Conservative Party. He is a long time resident of Hannibal, married 39 years to Dawn (Scruton) and has two grown daughters, Kari and Kami, and the proud grandfather to Gabriella. He has enjoyed his time as Town Supervisor and looks forward to continuing to serve the Hannibal community.
