OSWEGO, NY – Two groups did litter cleanups on the Oswego River this past week.

The cleanups were scheduled earlier in the season, but the earlier high water had prevented that from happening.

Members of the Oswego County Yakker Kayakers did a cleanup at the Volney launch site “Stop 28.”

The name comes from the stop number for the Oswego trolley that passed by the area in the early 1900s.

The second group was a combination of the Neighbors of Battle Island group and the Yakkers.
