Guest Speaker to Discuss Addiction Treatment at Phoenix HOPE Meeting

PHOENIX, NY – The Phoenix addiction support group, H.O.P.E will host a special guest speaker for the Phoenix and surrounding communities on Thursday, April 20.

The H.O.P.E. group, Heroin Opioid Prevention Education, was formed by Phoenix residents with the intent to change the face of addiction. The group meets every third Thursday of the month at 6:30 p.m. in the Sweet Memorial Building in Phoenix to offer support to anyone dealing with addiction personally or with a loved one and also holds events dedicated to educating the public on the current nationwide drug epidemic.

A free, public support group meeting will feature guest speaker Jared Croy from Advanced Recovery Systems beginning at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, April 20.

The meeting will take place at the Sweet Memorial Building located at 455 Main Street in Phoenix.

Advanced Recovery Systems is “an integrated behavioral healthcare management company dedicated to the treatment of addiction, substance abuse, eating disorders and mental health issues” with a national treatment network.

The treatment centers offered by Advanced Recovery Systems focus on a personalized treatment program using a three-pronged approach with therapeutic learning, cognitive based healing, and medication assistance.

Croy is a CASAC, Credentialed Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Counselor, and a Business Development Associate for Advanced Recovery Systems.

He will use his role with Advanced Recovery Systems to discuss treatment options, how to navigate insurance and the hurdles that are faced when seeking treatment, and even alternate options that many are not aware of.

H.O.P.E co-founder Savannah Jaquay said that people struggling with addiction that are seeking treatment are often discouraged by the process as they faced insurance hurdles and pitfalls that lead to failed treatment opportunities.

“Everyone says that the help is there and treatment is available which is all well and great, but especially for those navigating this road for the first time or even multiple times, it’s beneficial to have an advocate who has rolled up their sleeves to do the hard work behind the scenes and is not just saying help is available, but actually helping to provide it. This puts words into action,” Jaquay said.

She referenced a well known quote, “If you give a man a fish, he eats for a day. If you teach a man to fish, he eats for life.”

“It’s more than just wishing someone well, it’s putting the work into making sure that person has the best shot at recovery and wellness based on the personalized treatment they need and not what the insurance companies feel is appropriate or justifiable,” she added.
