The Internet is a media outlet that can be utilized to market agriculture. Blogs are growing in popularity as a way for farmers to communicate their story to customers and the public. At the Cornell Strategic Marketing Conference in November of 2009, Susan Gibbs, owner of a very successful fiber CSA spoke, she explained that the majority of her customers were gained through her farm blog and she now sells shares from her website. This is a great opportunity to learn and create a new marketing channel for your farm business.
Please join us for “Using the Internet to Market Your Agricultural Business.†This will be an afternoon workshop that includes basic website design and blog creation. The workshop will take place on Thursday, May 6 from 1 pm to 4 pm at Oswego County BOCES, 179 Co Rt 64 in Mexico. Cornell Cooperative Extension of Oswego County will present the workshop, with the support of Oswego County BOCES.
