The Oswego County Legislature designated July 26 as Americans with Disabilities Awareness Day to promote education about advocacy, resources and services available to county residents. The Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) of 1990 guarantees that people with disabilities have access to employment, public accommodations, transportation, services and telecommunications. Legislator John Proud, chairman of the Legislature’s Health and Human Services Committee, presented the proclamation to Sabine Ingerson, director of ARISE of Oswego County.
