OSWEGO, NY – One of the most anticipated events of the spring season is almost here.
On April 30, the, Oswego Christian Community School’s fourth annual auction will be held from 1 – 4 p.m. at the Oswego Armory, West First Street.
Featuring both a silent auction and a live auction, the event boasts an impressive selection of items that will appeal to all ages.
“Thanks to the generosity of area businesses and caring individuals we have already put together a wonderful list of products and services for our auction including an overnight stay at Mirbeau Inn and Spa in Skaneateles and a two-nation boat tour courtesy of Uncle Sam Boat Tours. We have are adding new auction items daily, which you can find on our website at www.myoccs.org We are anticipating our largest auction ever!” said planning committee coordinator Sue Bakos.
Students at the Oswego Community Christian School are also contributing, as they are busy preparing themed baskets that will be available for bid during the auction.
Each basket will be filled with an array of goodies that pertain to a unique theme, such as backyard fun, the beach and a night on the town, just to name a few.
Additionally, students are participating in a contest to design the program cover for this year’s auction.
“Our students showed great enthusiasm and artistic endeavor designing a program cover around the theme ‘Thank you, God, for our school!’ “I was delighted!” said school principal Debra Greutman.
The silent auction that will take place from 1 – 2:30 p.m. followed by a live auction, featuring auctioneer Jim Deacons of Crossroads Auction Center in Central Square, from 2:30 – 4:30 p.m.
The event will also include the Oswego Community Christian School’s annual prize drawing.
For a donation of only $10 individuals will have the opportunity to win one of three great prizes including a grand prize of either a five-night / six-day Disney vacation for a family of four or the choice of a $1,000 gift card, winner’s choice; a second prize of an Apple iPad; and a third prize of either a $250 gas or grocery card, winner’s choice.
There will also be food and refreshments available for purchase throughout the event.
All proceeds from this event will be used for the continued improvement of the quality of education offered to the students at OCCS.

Greutman added that the school is currently accepting registrations for the 2011/2012 school year for grades Pre-K to eighth, as well as for its Home School Extension Program and Extension Course Offerings.
