Poker Playin’ Play To Benefit H. Lee White Maritime Museum

OSWEGO – Retired police detective LaFleur, spends his time running his pub, “The 1850 House” with his new wife, Maggie, and enjoys a weekly card game.

When one of his poker partners suddenly dies of a heart attack, LaFleur suspects foul play.

Is he tilting at windmills, or is something sinister a foot?

“Hot Gold” a play scripted by local playwrights, Dr. Michael S. NuPuf and Laura B. Lowrie, is based on the Steve Abbott and John Fountain book “Hot Gold.”

It is the third in the Detective LaFleur series, and is being presented in a dinner format as a fundraiser for The H. Lee White Maritime Museum: the keepers of Oswego’s Lighthouse.

The performances will be presented at The American Foundry at 246 W. Seneca St., on Sept. 30.

Patrons will enjoy cocktails at 6 p.m., dinner at 7 p.m., followed by the show at 8 p.m.

On Oct. 1, patrons will enjoy brunch from noon to 2 p.m., the show starts at 2 p.m.

There will be a silent auction with items donated by local artists and companies.
