It’s almost time for Halloween and I have been planning the costumes for my little Puggle and his best (feline) friend Miranda.
But my husband thinks this is just stupid and will only stress them out.
We agreed that we would take your advice. What do you think?

Uh Oh! We hate being in the middle of these kinds of “discussions,” because, really, there is no one size fits all answer.
You two know your pets best. We would suspect that Miranda, being a cat, will really hate this idea.
Puggles, we don’t know.
Does he already wear things like sweaters with no problem? Or does he pout and hide every time you put one on him. That would be your first clue.
Some pets love getting lots of attention and having people ooh and aah over them.
Others, not so much.
Try Puggles first before the big night and see what happens. If either one seems stressed, let it go.
You and your husband can get dressed up in silly costumes and go demand candy from strangers instead.
Leave Puggles and Miranda home.
But if they actually seem not to mind and you go ahead and have Puggles (and/or Miranda) wear a costume, there are some safety tips to keep in mind.
They’re mostly common sense.
Costumes should not constrict their movement or hearing, or impede their ability to breathe, bark or meow.
Make sure they don’t have any small, dangling or easily chewed-off pieces that they could choke on.
Ill-fitting outfits can get caught on external objects leading to injury.
And make sure they have proper identification on underneath. If they wander off or get lost, a pumpkin suit is not the same as proper ID.
