OSWEGO – The Port of Oswego Authority, at the December 7 board meeting, awarded Crane-Hogan Structural Systems a $1.3 million contract for the repair and improvement of the Port’s west dock.

“This is a continuing effort by the Port and the board of directors to provide for investments in the continued commercial improvement of our facilities,” said Executive Director William W. Scriber.

The west dock is home to both Lehigh Cement and Sprague Energy, which are two key local commercial businesses. The project is funded by state, private and Port Authority funds.

“This contract is just part of a series of scheduled dock improvements that will be rolled out in 2021 totaling over $2.5 million,” Scriber said.

The Port Authority recently commenced construction on a REDI project for repairs to the Port’s east operating dock. Totaling over half of a million dollars, this will protect the east commercial dock from high water damage and erosion beneath the Port’s rail and dock system.
