Career and Technical Education students enrolled in the Public Safety and Justice Program at Oswego County BOCES held a special ceremony on Patriot’s Day to honor and remember the men, woman, and children that lost their lives on September 11, 2001.
Marking the 11th anniversary of the terrorist attacks on our nation, Public Safety and Justice Cadets lowered the American Flag to half-staff and a commemorative wreath, crafted by students in the Floral Design and Greenhouse Technology Program, was placed at the base of the flag pole.
OCB District Superintendent Christopher J. Todd addressed the crowd of students and staff that gathered for the ceremony.
He spoke about the “heroes,” the first responders, who put fear aside to help others on that fateful day and said that born out of that day “we found a true definition of patriotism.”
He went on to commend the students enrolled in the Public Safety and Justice Program who are training to be our nation’s future first responders.
