Pulaski Historical Society Plans Movies and More

PULASKI – The Pulaski Historical Society will present the next Fall evening program of this season on October 25 at 7 p.m.

The meeting will be held in the Carriage House, and is free and open to the public.

Refreshments will be served.

Hosts will be Jim and Jan Tighe.

“Movie Night” will feature old movies of scenes of Pulaski from the late 1920s and the early 1940s.

These came from 8mm reels compiled by Patricia Switzer Clark that her father, Merritt “Bud” Switzer Jr., took.

We’ll provide the popcorn as you have fun trying to identify the faces, fashions and fun times.

Then, on November 15 at 7 p.m., the program will be “100 Years of Women’s Voting Rights,” presented by Larry Petry.

Women in New York State have had the right to vote since 1917.

Find out how that came about, and the local connection to Pulaski.

Refreshments will be served, and the hosts will be Jim and Barb Gayne.

The Pulaski Historical Society is located at 3428 Maple Ave., across from Mavis Tire/Cole Muffler in the village.

The museum is open in October and November from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturdays.

Volunteers are also available for free tours or to help with research and questions at the regular work sessions on Tuesdays from 9 a.m. to noon.

For more information, call the museum at 315-298-4650, or e-mail [email protected].
