OSWEGO TOWN, NY- Services to Aid Families, a program of Oswego County Opportunities, will be holding a tree planting in the Town of Oswego in honor of crime victims.
Over the past nine years SAF has held an annual tree planting for victims of crime in recognition of National Crime Victims Week.
The goal for SAF is to plant a tree in every city, village and town throughout Oswego County.
The tree is meant to be a living symbol of hope and support to the many victims of crime and their families within the county.
This year the tree planting will be held on April 26 at 6:30 p.m. at the Oswego Town Hall.
The event is open to all Oswego County residents to come and show their support for victims of crime and their families.
SAF would like to extend a special thanks to Ontario Orchards for the generous donation of this year’s tree as well as the members of the Oswego Town board for their support.
SAF is the Domestic Violence and Rape Crisis Center for Oswego County and is currently a county representative for the NYS Crime Victims Board.
The Crime Victims Board provides compensation for eligible, innocent victims of crime due to medical bills, lost wages or funeral expenses.
SAF can provide support and assistance to individuals interested in filing for CVB compensation or in some cases within the legal system, as part of the Victim Support Project.
