Sponsors Make OCO Bowl-A-Fun A Success

FULTON, NY – This year’s Bowl-A-Fun celebrates Oswego County Opportunities’ 50th anniversary of service to the community.

Thanks to the generous support of many donors and sponsors, this “Fifty and Fabulous” bowling competition and birthday party is sure to be a success.

This event is sponsored by “Making a Difference” Sponsors G&C Foods, National Grid and Pathfinder Bank, and “Building Dreams” Sponsor OneGroup.

“We’re extremely grateful for the support of so many major sponsors,” said OCO Executive Director Diane Cooper-Currier. “This year’s focus is on thanking our community for embracing OCO’s mission: inspiring partnerships and providing services that empower people, support communities and change lives – for the better!”

Bowl-A-Fun is set for April 9, at Lakeview Lanes.

The “Corporate Competition” bowling tournament takes place from noon – 2:30 p.m., with sponsor teams vying for high scores and bragging rights.

Teams of community members are welcome to register and join in the fun, Cooper-Currier said.

The event offers much more than bowling.

As soon as the Corporate Competition concludes, the party starts.

“We’re throwing a 50th birthday-anniversary party,” Cooper-Currier said. “Admission is free but you need a ticket.”

OCO will have tickets available at its offices at 239 Oneida St., Fulton, Monday – Friday 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m., and Midtown Plaza, corner East First and Bridge streets, Oswego, Monday -Friday 9 a.m. – 5 p.m., through April 1.

Party-goers will receive tokens for free pizza and soda.

There will be live entertainment all afternoon, miniature golf and a bounce house (weather permitting).

“You’ll even get to meet Elvis himself!” Cooper-Currier said.

There will be a balloon raffle, 50/50, and more. George Hoffman from 103.9 The Dinosaur will serve as emcee, and Dave Lepage, former head of major sponsor G&C Foods, is this year’s honorary chair.

A private, non-profit agency, OCO’s many programs touch the lives of more than 22,000 Oswego County residents each year.

One of Oswego County’s largest employers, OCO employs more than 580 people and boasts a volunteer force of 1,200.
