Staff at St. Luke Health Services held a canned food drive recently to benefit the Food Bank of Central New York and affiliate, the Human Concerns Center in Oswego.

For a donation of canned goods, St. Luke staff was able to “dress down” and wear their favorite pair of blue jeans to work for the day and support the Food Bank of Central New York’s local affiliate, The Human Concerns Center in Oswego.

“I am appreciative of the wonderful show of support by or staff on behalf of the Food Bank,” said Elizabeth Nesbitt, RN, one of the event organizers. “We felt that the Food Bank was an appropriate organization to support, particularly at this time of year.”

The donations will be made a part of the Emergency Food Assistance Program (TEAP), which provides commodity foods, meats, vegetables and fruits to the Food Bank for food pantries, soup kitchens and shelters that provide food assistance to those in need.
