OSWEGO – Staff at St. Luke Health Services in Oswego joined the Hands Across America project sponsored by the Sodexo Foundation to help stop hunger locally, and across the country.
Staff donations of non-perishable food items were collected during a recent training day and earmarked for the Oswego Human Concerns Center; a local food pantry serving the community.
“We had tremendous participation from our staff here at St. Luke,” said Bernice Strother, Clinical Nutrition Manger at St. Luke. “Through the Helping Hand Across America project we are helping to address the issue of hunger right here in our own area, and the generosity of our staff in support of this effort, especially at this time of year, will make the upcoming holidays perhaps a bit more festive for those in need.”
The Sodexo Foundation is an independent charitable organization sponsoring and supporting initiatives that tackle the root causes of hunger in the U.S., with particular focus on helping children and their families. Since its founding in 1999, the Sodexo Foundation has made more than $11 million in grants to fight hunger in America.
