OSWEGO – The Oswego County Opportunities (OCO) Breastfeeding, Chestfeeding, and Lactation Friendly New York (OCOBFFNY) program is proud to announce the success of the third annual Community Baby Shower, recently hosted at Elim Grace Church in Oswego. This event was a true community-wide collaborative effort, brought to life through the incredible leadership and driving force of REACH CNY alongside numerous local partners. Together, this collaborative effort aimed to support local families by celebrating and connecting new and expectant parents with vital area resources.
The Community Baby Shower featured more than 23 local organizations dedicated to supporting healthy pregnancies, safe infant care, and strong family foundations. Attendees had the unique opportunity to meet directly with area providers, ask questions, and discover available community services.
The event served as a true demonstration of a community united in its commitment to supporting breastfeeding, chestfeeding, and overall family well-being. By drawing the community together, the initiative ensured that parents do not have to navigate their journeys alone.
Serving as a vital conduit for family education, each participating organization shared valuable materials and offered helpful giveaways, ensuring families left feeling both informed and empowered on their feeding and parenting journeys. To foster a sense of community and celebration, the supportive atmosphere was enhanced by music, refreshments, and an abundance of raffles. Highlighting the collective care within Oswego County, every attendee received a special gift to take home.
