Volney Elementary School students attended a special assembly to recognize positive behavior and for being role models.

Principal Lisa Garofalo gave certificates to one student from each classroom that exemplified the May character trait, effort.
These monthly classroom role models were: Mikaylee Vail, Nathanial Casler-West, Shana Zupancic, Ava Pelky, Olivia Ruzekowicz, Teddy Pederson, Ashley Taplin, Kelly Hayden, Zach Watkins, Trinity Valentin-Fragale, Ethan Frank, Durbin Dygert, Naomi Roberts, Deven Searor, Elena Ruzekowicz, Alex Hollenbeck, Dominic Abbott, Angel Ortiz, Brittney Baum, Brayden Howard, Jason Riebel and Destiny Newton.
In addition to the classroom role models, 22 students were awarded certificates for being “On A Roll” models.

They are: Kendra Runge, Armando Vosseller, Adam Johnson, Audrey White, Jasmine Heywood, Nathan Hutchinson, Hailey Lischak, Anna Lund, Chris Clarke, Kameron Przychodzen, Alex Knapp, Dominick Mason, Ethan Jacobson, Sebastian Spann, Brandon Garner, Jesse Weber, Ethan Caruana, Destiny Miller, Lucas Learned, Camran Andreotta, Autumn Kennedy and Josh Barnum.
Before the awards presentation, students were treated to a performance by Reader’s Theater.
The first graders presented the story “Click, Clack, Moo: Cows That Type” by Doreen Cronin. Following the awards, the top storytellers from Volney shared their tales with the school.
