Wisdom Thinkers Network Summer Institute Slated July 19, 20

The Wisdom Thinkers Network is proud to present an exciting, new summer institute, Changing the Story Together: Inspiring our Youth to Thrive in an Ever-Changing World.

This two-day summer institute, which will be held on July 19 and 20 at CiTi in Mexico, aims to equip all of our children with a character-rich foundation needed for a meaningful life in school, community, and the workplace.

The event will include nationally known speakers and a variety of exciting and interactive workshops, focused on three key themes including: Whole Child Interventions, Raising Resilient Children and Sustainable Livelihoods, plus great networking opportunities.

Ralph Singh, founder and chair of the Wisdom Thinkers Network, is thrilled to be coordinating the summer institute and has been working diligently with a diverse group of local organizations to bring the event to the community.

”Wisdom thinkers is committed to helping our children find their story and then inspiring them to help change the story of their world. We’re excited to bring together world famous experts, in Oswego County, on neurobiology – how our brains develop character, School climate to combat bullying and changing the mindset from poverty to sustainable livelihoods,” said Singh. “We feel it’s our responsibility not just to point the way, but to actively help our children succeed.”

Dr. Darcia Narvaez, Director of Notre Dame’s Collaborative for Ethical Education will present on “Building The Nest: From brain function to flourishing children and communities of character,” Dr. Naresh Singh, International Development Consultant will present on “Changing the story from Poverty to Sustainable Livelihoods” and Dr. Jonathan Cohen, NSCC, President, National School Climate Center will present on “Building a Positive School Climate – Promoting a Community of Upstanders: Promoting Learning as well as Preventing Cruel and Bullying Behaviors.”

Those attending will also have the opportunity to participate in a plethora of interactive workshop sessions, including topics such as character education integration, service learning, impacts of childhood trauma in schools, engaging students and families in schools, social emotional learning, cultivating sustainable livelihoods, strategies for prevention and intervention of chronic absenteeism, enhancing workforce development in students and creating sustainable school and community relationships.

The admission fee for the event is $50, and covers both days of the summer institute and also includes lunch and refreshments.

Registration for the event can be completed online through July 12.
