Students constructed origami rabbits, honoring both the Chinese invention of paper and the beginning of the “Year of the Rabbit.”

They also made ribbon sticks to wave in celebration.

The room was decorated with traditional Chinese paper lanterns and artifacts from China.

The highlight of the celebration included a parade through Kingsford Park Elementary School complete with drums, bells, and ribbons waving, while chanting “Gong Xi Fa Cái!”

Students also received fortune cookies, tangerine oranges representing good luck and red  hóng bao envelopes.

The celebration ended with a sampling of Chinese food generously donated by a local Chinese restaurant.

The program was a collaboration between the Literacy and ESL departments at the school and some KPS parents who helped implement the celebration. missing or outdated ad config
