FULTON – The Art Scene (née CNY Arts Center) presents Stage Fright: The Concert Experience, an evening of horror-theme music played by local bands. Organizer and host Gina Mazzoli says, “This one night only concert is to die for! Come delight all six senses as we get you into the Halloween spirit, with our live bands, undead dancers, reasonably priced cash bar, and a cabinet of spooky surprises.”
The show opens at 6:00pm in the lobby with haunting melodies from Kellen Bassette. Kellen is a singer/songwriter that plays folk, blues and outlaw country. He is also founder of the popular band “The Condescenders.” Kellen is also lending his talents as a special guest to the Whiskey Spirits.
The Whiskey Spirits will then bring Halloween-themed classic country, folk rock, Americana, and torch songs to the main stage. This new formed duo consists of Gina Mazzoli on vocals and Tim Netkriz on slide guitar and dobro. Mazzoli is a mainstay of community theatre and celebrated for her outstanding vocals. Nektriz is a singer/songwriter who helms a variety of showcases, such as The Variety Show and The Songwriters Circle.
The Underwater Bosses will be returning to Fulton for this special event. The Bosses are a surf rock trio from Syracuse who played as the house band for The Art Scene’s July showing of the sci-fi thriller Space Race. Formed in 2018, the surf rock band consists of drummer Bob Breen, guitarist/organist Chris Stewart and bassist/vocalist Greg Bressett. Bresset invites the audience to “hang ten on riff-driven surf soaked in sonic waves of punk, garage, psychedelic, art and math rock… with an element of terror!”
The Dust Creatures close the evening with cinematic horror standards and originals – featuring choreographed numbers as performed by dancing skeletons. The band is made up of lifelong friends Erik Mosher on guitar and vocals, Emil Christmann and Josh Rogers both on bass, Josh Mumm on electric guitar, and Chris Wahl on keyboard and trombone.
“The scariest part of this concert is how good the music is,” says Mazzoli. “You may not dance the Dance of the Dead, but you’ll be dancing nonetheless!” Stage Fright: The Concert Experience is Saturday, October 26th, doors and bar open at 6pm. Reserve your concert pass today at www.theartscene.org
