Wilkinson, Fontana Have Key Roles In ‘Hound’

OSWEGO, NY – When the Oswego Players mounts “The Hound of the Baskervilles” in early October, two local favorites will pay the key roles of Kathy Stapleton and Sir Henry.

Troy Pepper will be directing this Tim Kelly version of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s well-known “The Hound of the Baskervilles.”

This classic suspense thriller has Tammy Wilkinson as the vivacious young Stapleton and Bobby Fontana as the heir to the estate, Sir Henry.

Wilkinson will be known to Oswego Players’ regulars as the not so dumb Billie Dawn in “Born Yesterday” and cute and perky “Sunny” in last summer’s “The Lady Who Cried Fox.”

She takes every opportunity to perform on stage, having worked with Appleseed Productions (“Della’s Diner”), Sugar Pearl Players (“The Vagina Monologues”) and the Oswego Children’s Theatre (“Go Ask Alice”).

Presently, she is working on a movie project, “Fallen Angel” as an actor and location manager.

Professionally she is Marketing Coordinator for LeRoi, Inc.

Fontana as Sir Henry, heir to the Baskerville estate, is no stranger to the Players’ stage.

He made his debut in 1995 as the comic bellboy in “Lend Me a Tenor” by Ken Ludwig.

He enjoyed it so much that he has been busy ever since acting in 21 shows for Players, 4 with the Port City Theatre, 3 with Fulton Community Theatre, and 7 with the Oswego Children’s Theatre.

He also includes in his resume 3 operas, even though he admits he can’t sing.

He will, however, do any non-singing part available.

Fontana turned his collective experiences toward directing, with 8 full-length productions, most recently the successful, “One Flew Over the Cukoo’s Nest.”

Other cast members include: Peter and Kelly Mahan, D. J. Russell, Erin Chetney, Bevery Murtha, Steve Standish, Norman Berlin, III, Quinn Etchie, and Ken Snow.

“The Hound of the Baskervilles” by Tim Kelly, will be playing in the Frances Marion Brown Theatre in the Fort Ontario Arts Complex on Oct. 8 and 9, 15 and 16 at 8 p.m.

There will be a matinee on Oct. 17 at 2 p.m.

Ticket prices are: adults – $10; seniors – $8 and students – $7.
