This morning, at around 3:22 AM, members of the Oswego County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to a one-vehicle motor vehicle accident on County Route 57, near North Shore Road in the Town of Schroeppel.
Preliminary investigation revealed that a 2022 Subaru Forester was traveling southbound on County Route 57 when it traveled westerly, off the roadway, down an embankment and overturned. Poor weather and hazardous road conditions may have been a contributing factor. The operator and lone occupant of the vehicle was identified as Theodore Grader, 66 years of age and a resident of Phoenix, NY. Theodore was pronounced dead on scene.
The Oswego County Sheriff’s Office was assisted on-scene by the Village of Phoenix Fire Department, Moyers Corner Fire Department, Shameless Towing, and Menter Ambulance.
This incident is still under investigation.
