Fulton Police say two Rochester women led them on a high-speed, three-county, five-police-agency chase Wednesday night.
Fulton PD alleges, in a news release, that an officer was called to the Super Wal-Mart in Granby at 6:37 p.m. Wednesday night for a report of a theft from the store.
An officer saw a white Ford Explorer allegedly driving erratically in the city at about the same time and tried to stop the vehicle. Instead, police allege the driver sped off.
The chase hit speeds of more than 90 miles an hour as police pursued the vehicle more than 20 miles from Route 3 in Fulton to Hannibal and onto Route 104 to Red Creek. The vehicle was eventually stopped in Red Creek and the driver and passenger were arrested.
Police say they found merchandise from the Wal-Mart inside the vehicle.
Javonnia Rouse, 30, and Shytrece Banks, 30, both of Rochester, were charged with grand larceny. A judge refused bail to Banks and set bail of $2,500 for Rouse. Both were taken to the Oswego County Correctional Facility. Police expect to lodge several other charges against the women over the pursuit.
Fulton Police say they got help from Wolcott Village Police, the State Police, State DEC Police, and the Wayne County Sheriff’s Department.

They had enough money for gas to come to Fulton from Rochester and had to steal? Wow…And on top of that, how many lives were put at risk because they couldn’t afford to shop at WalMart?
You people in Fulton are kind of gutless not wanting to print all views , in particular the ones that are true ! Little town , little people ! If you wonder why your dying , look deep inside yourself . Your not a newspaper anymore than Fulton is a city with a future !

1. We have a very simple rule for commenting here — no personal attacks. Period. Even (especially) when people have been arrested, even after they’ve been convicted. You can talk about the issues without ripping into people.
2. You want to say something negative to someone? Call them. You don’t need us.
3. Printing someone’s personal attacks isn’t going to do anything to help Fulton. Or hurt it.
