City of Fulton Will Be Blazing New Trails

FULTON – City of Fulton officials today (May 31) announced that its Downtown Revitalization Plan was submitted to the Regional Economic Development Council in the Fourth Round of the annual competition.

The DRI allows the state to invest $100 million annually into downtown neighborhoods, with 10 individual cities or villages selected for $10 million awards by the state Regional Economic Development Councils.

The city of Fulton has officially launched the 2019 City of Fulton Downtown Revitalization Initiative Plan.

“The plan this year has gathered more public input and support than previous years” said Mayor Ronald L Woodward. “The engagement with residents and business owners has enlightened our city in terms of support and planning for development”

The city solicited ideas and comments from community meetings, business visits and online surveying to gather the information that our stakeholders wanted to share.

The plan displays an impressive past investment section that includes more than $90 million of investment in the last five years, while introducing new transformative list of projects that would provide more than $60 million of investment in the next two to three years with the infusion of awarded DRI funds.

Job creation, investment and creating that vibrant downtown will be the main focus in this blueprint for success.
