FULTON – The Oswego County Health Department is investigating a confirmed case of COVID-19 at Mimi’s Drive-In Restaurant, 201 N. Second St., Fulton.
Anyone who visited the restaurant on the following dates may have been exposed to the virus:
- Saturday, Nov. 14, between 8:30 and 9:15 a.m.
- Monday, Nov. 16, between 8:30 and 9:15 a.m.; and
- Monday, Nov. 16, between 1 and 2 p.m.
Oswego County Public Health Director Jiancheng Huang said COVID-19 is spreading at an alarming rate throughout Oswego County. Anyone who visited the restaurant during these time periods should monitor themselves for symptoms of COVID-19 for 14 days. Symptoms include fever, cough, shortness of breath, fatigue, muscle ache, headache, new loss of taste and smell, and gastrointestinal illness.
People experiencing COVID symptoms should stay home, and parents should keep their children home if they are sick. Those with symptoms should call their health care provider to arrange to be tested. People should not go to emergency departments unless they are experiencing life-threatening symptoms.
Huang said it can take at least 24 hours to three or four days for a public exposure to be tracked down and announced. After a person is tested, it takes time for the information from the testing site to reach the lab, and for the results to be shared with the State and County Health Departments.
“The lab process usually takes 24 to 72 hours,” said Huang. “When we receive the results at the county level, we need to take the necessary time to investigate the case and determine the possibility of public exposure before making an announcement.”
County Legislature Chairman James Weatherup implores everyone to take personal responsibility for reducing the spread of the COVID-19 virus in the community:
- Stay home if you are sick and keep your children home if they are sick.
- Wear a face mask or covering over your nose and mouth.
- Avoid non-essential gatherings of all types.
- Keep six feet from other people.
- Wash hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds, especially before eating.
- Cover your cough or sneeze with a tissue and then throw the tissue in the trash.
- Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth
- Clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces.
- Avoid close contact with people who are sick.
- Call your healthcare provider from home if you are experiencing symptoms such as a fever, cough or shortness of breath.
- Do not go to the emergency department unless you are experiencing life-threatening conditions.

Don’t worry people everything is sanitized before you are able to even sit. All the rules are followed just like every other restaurant in fulton.
This is a press release from the county with important information for the public. This does not say an employee was infected so I don’t see this lays blame on Mimi’s. I also agree that big box stores should be held to the same standards as our local shops and restaurants.

Hey Site Adminstrator: people are allowed to take their masks off in restaurants when eating or drinking, but never in big box stores (or ANY stores, for that matter) so you’re comparing apples to oranges. To hold the same standards it would be neccasary to end in-person dining or require maks to stay on while eating!!! Don’t Share Your Air.
Box stores don’t get fines of $10,000 and they are not all in forcing their own mask regulations. I see bigger groups of people in Lowes Home Depot and Walmarts then in Mimi’s.
The virus can also be transmitted from surfaces. But like I said Mimi’s is not at fault and as we have learned people can have and transmit the virus without knowing the have it.
I also stated “Local Shops”. Salons and Gyms can be fined and shut down as well as restaurants and bars.
