PBIS Celebration Rewards Successful Year at FJHS

Fulton Junior High School was alive with music, dancing, outdoor games, ice cream and lots of positive fun recently for the Positive Behavior Intervention and Services Celebration at the school. Organizers held the day to reward students for practicing positive behavior and district wide behavioral expectations. Students received Raider Rewards for being good throughout the year, and could turn them in at the office for eligibility in the final drawing for prizes which were given away at the celebration. Daniel Tallman’s name was drawn for the hoodie and skateboard package. The skateboard was signed by professional skateboarder Andy MacDonald who visited the Junior High this year and presented a program. Alex Bawarski won a digital camera, Courtney Beckwith won a one-month membership to Personal Best Fitness and Dalton Sherman won a package of passes to the Midway Drive In.

The cafeteria served as a dance and music area for eighth graders while the seventh graders enjoyed ice cream, kick ball and more outside. After a little while, the grades switched areas and the seventh graders danced and eighth graders enjoyed the outdoor activities.

Hudson Dairy supplied the ice cream to the school at their cost and had a refrigerated truck on hand to keep the ice cream cold during the distribution.

Outside seventh and eighth graders signed well wishes to the incoming seventh and eighth grade classes on signs that will be hung during the first week of school.

Positive Behavioral Intervention and Supports (PBIS), is a district wide approach to teaching and supporting positive behaviors in the Fulton City School District.
