LYSANDER – On March 9, at approximately 2:34 p.m., State Police stopped a vehicle operating erratically on State Route 690 in the town of Lysander, Onondaga County.

Troopers reportedly observed various drug paraphernalia and evidence of recent drug use within the vehicle.
Investigation at the scene revealed several envelopes containing heroin powder, hypodermic needles, and several Schedule II prescription pills for which none of the occupants possessed a valid prescription, according to police.
The driver of the vehicle, Jaime L. Sprague, 39, of Fulton, and passengers Manuel J. Diaz, 41, of Fulton, and Thomas D. DeMott, 40, of Hannibal, were taken into custody and transported to SP Lysander for processing.

All three subjects were then arraigned in the Town of Lysander Court on the following charges:
Sprague is charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 7th Degree, a class “A” misdemeanor.
Diaz is charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 7th Degree, and Possession of a Hypodermic Instrument, both class “A” misdemeanors.

DeMott is charged with four counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 7th Degree, Possession of a Hypodermic Instrument, both class “A” misdemeanors, and Possession of a Controlled Substance Not in Original Container, a violation.
