OSWEGO COUNTY, NY – Despite an unusually warm stretch of weather in February 2017 that brought temperatures over 60 degree multiple days in a row, Winter Storm Stella has proven that winter is not over yet.
With the first official day of spring approaching next week (March 20,) a brutal nor’easter snowstorm has reminded New Yorkers what a typical winter in the northeast is made of.
According to the National Weather Service, as of 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday (March 15) Fulton had recorded 24 inches of snowfall.
Governor Andrew M. Cuomo declared a state of emergency for all 62 counties throughout NYS in anticipation of the storm, even urging all non-essential state employees to remain home through the worst of it.
Cities throughout Oswego County and the state declared travel bans due to unsafe road conditions and numerous local schools and businesses have closed due to worsening weather conditions.
