OSWEGO COUNTY – Now is your chance to tell the Oswego County Health Department what public health topics and programs you want prioritized! From Oct. 1 through Oct. 31, residents can fill out an online survey to help determine community health needs and help the health department set priorities in its program planning process.
“We want community input on the needs, strengths and challenges they see impacting public health,” said Oswego County Public Health Director Vera Dunsmoor. “Their responses also help us develop the Community Health Assessment and Community Health Improvement Plan.”
The Community Health Assessment is a complete evaluation of a community’s health status, needs and issues. The Community Health Improvement Plan is a detailed action plan to address those needs and issues identified in the Community Health Assessment.
“We appreciate everyone who takes the time to fill out our survey,” said Dunsmoor. “Please encourage your family, friends, neighbors and coworkers to take the survey. The more responses we get, the better we’re able to create an accurate picture of community needs and address their concerns.”
Questions include what a healthy community should look like, what the biggest health concerns in the community currently are, and what social factors affect community health and wellness.
All responses are anonymous and no personally identifiable information is collected without the participant’s knowledge and consent. People interested in taking the survey must be aged 18 or older and a current resident of Oswego County. The survey takes approximately 15 minutes to complete.
Find the survey on the Oswego County Health Department’s website at www.oswegocounty.com/health or click on “survey” to go directly to the online form.
