OSWEGO, NY – Upon his release from jail in Onondaga County, Andrew Stoughtenger will be returning to the Oswego County Correctional Facility.
Stoughtenger, 20, of Oswego, appeared in Oswego County Court this week where Judge Walter Hafner Jr. reset his bail on an indictment that was brought against him in July. Stoughtenger is presently facing 12-counts of second-degree burglary.
During a court appearance Oct. 8, Hafner reportedly told Stoughtenger that he is facing 10 years in state prison for the charges. Stoughtenger’s defense attorney, Salvatore Lanza, said that his client wants to take the matter to trial.
In light of new charges brought against Stoughtenger Oct. 14 in Onondaga County, Oswego County Assistant District Attorney Mark Moody made an application to have his bail revoked. Ultimately, Hafner ruled that Stoughtenger will have to post a half million dollars in cash to be released from the county jail.
After the appearance, Stoughtenger was returned to Onondaga County where he is presently being held in connection with the attempted burglary of a residence on Apulia Road in the town of LaFayette. He is facing charges of attempted burglary and possession of burglar’s tools for that arrest.
Stoughtenger is scheduled to return to Oswego County Court early next month.
