OSWEGO – The City of Oswego is proud to announce that they have been awarded funding for the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law Lead Service Line Project. $5.5 million dollars of federal funding has been awarded, with 0% financing, to begin addressing homes in our city. These funds should allow for approximately 350-500 replaced services, in one of the highest lead areas in the City of Oswego. The first project area will be surrounding Fitzhugh Park School in the 2nd Ward.

It is important to note that analysis to determine priority areas/chronology of project installments is determined by a multitude of factors including socio-economic indicators via general census data as well as EPA Screen data, all of which are outside of the City of Oswego and its personnel.

It can also be noted that this first area of focus is reflective of approximately 10% of the potential areas of need in the city.

“This funding is very much needed and welcomed as we address this important issue in the years to come in our community,” said Mayor Corradino. The City of Oswego is excited to be able to secure these funds to begin addressing this large-scale project and will continue to seek additional funds to continue this project.
