Oswego Celebrates Independence Day July 3, 2011 Steve Yablonski Jacqueline Hondro leads the Oswego High School Marching Buccaneers down Bridge Street. This young lady enjoys a rainbow sno-cone as she watches the Independence Day Parade roll past at West Eighth and Bridge streets. Re-enactors from Oswego’s historic Fort Ontario participated in the 4th of July parade; a reminder of the important role this area played in the roots of this nation. Bella found a cool patch of shade in East Part to view the parade. The puppy said she enjoyed it, even if her humans wouldn’t let her chase any of the police cars or fire trucks. Characters from the Renaissance Faire paraded through the Port City on Sunday afternoon.
