An Oswego High School graduate was murdered in her Boston-area home earlier this week, and police say her husband admitted to the killing.
Christina Foote Mulgrave was stabbed many times by her husband, Craig, police allege. She died in their apartment in Haverhill, Massachusetts on Tuesday. Christina Foote graduated from Oswego High School in 1982. She worked as a nurse.
Craig Mulgrave is in jail without bail.
Christina Mulgrave had moved back to the Boston area a few months ago after marrying Craig Mulgrave in Las Vegas. She wanted to be close to her adult children from a previous marriage.
The Boston Herald described Craig Mulgrave as a “layabout”. He was unemployed. The Eagle-Tribune newspaper said:
“Routine and standard court documents listed virtually nothing about Craig Mulgrave’s background  no place of birth, no driver’s license, no employer or occupation listed, and no names of his father or mother.
“He did not provide a lot of information, and we had no information on him at the station,” Deputy Chief Donald Thompson said yesterday. “We have had no prior contact with the Mulgraves until Tuesday”  the day that Mulgrave killed his wife in their second-floor apartment at 107 Chestnut St., according to police.
Investigators said they have since learned Craig Mulgrave is from Jamaica, formerly worked there as a hotel security guard and is believed to be unemployed.”
The reason for the murder also remains a mystery, according to reports. Christina Mulgrave’s son told one newspaper that Craig Mulgrave was more a threat to kill himself than to kill another person. But people living in the apartment house at the time of the murder say there’s no questions Craig Mulgrave did the killing. The Boston Globe reports:
missing or outdated ad configStanding in the hallway outside the couple’s apartment, bloodied and in his pajamas, with a knife by his side, Craig Mulgrave reportedly told the police sergeant in a calm voice that he had just killed his wife and that she was in the nearby room.
“He was just covered in blood,” said Tim Allen, a neighbor who had directed the sergeant to the apartment. “He acted so calmly, just saying, ‘I killed my wife.'”
