Barbara A. Corbett, 65, a resident of Co Rt. 1, Scriba, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, October 14, 2009 surrounded by her loving family.

Born in Watertown, NY, she was the daughter of the late Ralph R. and Florence I. (Franklin) Hogaboom.

Barbara was a retired Teacher’s Assistant of Special Education at Riley Elementary, Oswego.

She enjoyed gardening, traveling in her RV, bluegrass festivals and spending time with family and friends at the lake.

Barbara was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.

She is survived by her husband, Charles “Chip” Corbett of Scriba; two daughters, Valerie (Joe) Raffa of New Haven and Virginia (Warren) Vandish of Palermo; two sons, Scott (Peggy Ann) Corbett of Fulton and Joseph (Tammy) Corbett of Oswego; four brothers, Keith Hogaboom of Colorado; David Hogaboom of Florida; Ret. Capt Salvation Army, Larry Hogaboom of Michigan and Leroy Hogaboom of Oregon; one sister, Beverly Ahern of Florida; eleven grandchildren, Patricia (Brad) Taylor, 1st Lt. USAF Joe (Angela) Raffa, Nicolas Raffa, Jared Raffa, Kristen Corbett, Aaron Corbett, Brett Corbett, Alida Ann Corbett, Caleb Joseph Corbett, Lindsey Rose Vandish and Emily Rose Vandish; three great-grandsons, Isaiah Taylor, Gideon Taylor and Uriah Taylor; plus numerous nieces and nephews.

She was pre-deceased by two brothers, Norman Hogaboom and Gary Hogaboom.

A Celebration of Barbara’s life will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, at the Mount Pleasant United Methodist Church, Co Rt. 45, Volney, with family friend, Pastor David Grey officiating.

Burial will be in North Scriba Union Cemetery immediately following the Service.

Calling hours will be held from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m., Friday at the Nelson Funeral Home, 11 W. Albany St., Oswego.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Oswego County Hospice, St. Jude’s Children Hospital or the Oswego Salvation Army.
