OSWEGO, NY – Bruce L. Mullenax, 59, a resident of 487 County Route 29, died unexpectedly at his home on Wednesday Jan. 13, 2010.
Born in Cortland, NY, he was the son of the late James and Marie (Stolt) Mullenax.
He was a graduate of SUNY Morrisville and had resided in Scriba for several years.
He had been employed with the Miller Brewery for almost 20 years and later worked for the Fulton Tool Shop.
For the past five years, he worked with Loomis Armed Guard Service of East Syracuse.
Mr. Mullenax was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving in Viet Nam in the early 1970s during the conflict in Southeast Asia.
He continued to serve even after his active service.
He was a life member and past commander of VFW #9218 in Scriba.
He was the past commander of both the Oswego County Council VFW and the 5th District VFW.
Currently he was vice chairman for the MIA-POW Department of the New York VFW.
Mr. Mullenax was an avid fisherman and hunter.
He is survived by his wife of 37 years, the former Debra Goodway; two sons, Scott (Teri) Mullenax of Palermo and Mark Pittsley of Oswego; a daughter, Wendy (George) Parrott of Fort Hood, Texas; two sisters, Jamie Pudge and Judy Mullenax both of California; six grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 1 p.m. at the Bath National Cemetery.
Burial with full military honors will follow the service.
Friends may call at the Dowdle Funeral Home on Sunday from 4-8 p.m.

Do you remember Jay and me? Jay worked with Bruce @ Millers and we went to your house for get togethers a few times with our baby son, Jay. We Always liked Bruce and you. We live in Niceville, Fl. Do hope you are well.
