Linda Kay Bergman

Linda Kay Bergman

PHOENIX, NY – It is with heavy hearts that we announce the unexpected passing of
Linda Kay Bergman on August 6, 2024 at the age of 67. Linda was born
on November 9, 1956, in Corpus Christi, Texas to John and Anne
(Carney) Bourlier. Linda and her family moved to Phoenix, New York
where she met the love of her life and beloved husband, Mike, of
nearly 50 years.

Linda is survived by her husband and best friend Mike Bergman,
children Gina Altman(Mathew), Mikey, Stefanie, and Kevin Bergman, as
well as her four grandchildren Devin Redeye, and Chase, Shay, and Cal
Altman. Linda is also survived by her siblings Dave Bourlier and
Sandee (Bourlier) Gompert. She is predeceased by her parents John and
Anne (Carney) Bourlier as well as her seven siblings Sharon Lumbert,
Cindy Drane, Marcia Hicks, Johnny Bourlier, Bobby Bourlier, Sue Byars,
and Katrina Shafer.

To say Linda was loving and caring is an understatement. She was the
mother hen with chicks under her wings always taking care of others
before herself. Many loved her like a second mother and she treated
them as such. Linda lived her life to the fullest as the wife and
mother she intended to be by loving unconditionally. She prided
herself in her family and made sure to never say goodbye without a hug
and “I love you”. It is impossible to embody who Linda was in a few
paragraphs but those who knew her loved her; she was truly beautiful
inside and out.

Linda was a social butterfly, gaining friends wherever she went and
making them all feel
important. She made us laugh even when she didn’t intend to. Linda
spent her days surrounded by nature and her spirit radiates from the
garden. She was passionate about her flowers, bringing life to
everyone and everything she touched. The bird feeders were always full
as were our stomachs.  She spoiled her puppy Bear whom she referred
to as her gentle giant. They kept each other company waiting for the
trains to pass as she loved to hear their whistles blow. Linda
welcomed everyone into her home which she covered with antiques and
collectibles as she could find beauty and meaning in anything. She and
Mike couldn’t wait for “wine time” on the weekends.
Their love for each other remained full of devotion, compassion, and
of course, humor.

While her home was her comfort place, Linda looked forward to
vacations with her family and would always be found walking the
seashore collecting sea glass and shells. Linda, our “Camp Mom”, spent
the summers camping with loved ones and ended the evenings enjoying
the sunset with her husband. When Fall came, apple picking would bring
out her inner child. Linda never said no to an adventure and spent her
final day of life chasing waterfalls and  picking flowers with a big
smile on her face. It is a great privilege to have known her. She
captured the hearts of many and is forever ingrained in our memories.
Unwavering in her faith, Linda is now surrounded by her previously
deceased loved ones. Now it is time to let yourself be taken care of.

Until we meet again. We love you always.
