OSWEGO, NY – Antonio Mendez, 28, a resident of Oswego, passed away on Tuesday June 5, 2012.
Born in New Jersey, he was a son of the late Jose Mendez and Migdalia Rosario.
He was a graduate of Oswego High School, attended OCC and received his CDL from NTTS.
He was a cab driver for Lake City Taxi.
Antonio loved to play basketball and had played on the OHS basketball team.
He was an avid Knicks fan.
Surviving besides his mother, are the two loves of his life, his sons, Antonio and Andre Mendez; his longtime companion, Angelina Torres; two brothers, Jose Mendez of Fulton and Kelvin Mendez of New Jersey; and his stepfather, Rafeal Moyett of Oswego.
Funeral services will be held on Monday at 10:30 a.m. from the Dowdle Funeral Home.
Burial will be in St. Peter’s Cemetery.
Friends may call at the Dowdle Funeral Home on Sunday from 2-5 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to a charity of choice.
