OSWEGO, NY – Arffia Godfrey, 88, a resident of 466 Ridge Road, passed away on Sunday May 2, 2010, at Oswego Hospital.
She was born in Oswego and was the daughter of the late Carmello and Giovanni Ferraro.
She was a graduate of Oswego High School.
Mrs. Godfrey had been employed with Nestle’s for 25 years.
Arffia enjoyed knitting and crocheting as well as bingo and baking for everyone.
She loved to spend time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Surviving are her son, Dean “Bub” (Sue) Godfrey of Oswego; three daughters, Joan Godfrey of Gafney S.C., Frances (Lewis) Leavens of Oswego and Catherine (Robert) Wills of Gafney, S.C.; six grandchildren; several great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband, Dean Godfrey, in 1995.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 9 a.m. from St. Joseph’s Church.
Burial will be in Oswego Town Rural Cemetery.
Friends may call at the Dowdle Funeral Home on Wednesday from 5-7 p.m.

I remember Aunt Arffia going to Bingo and making her Italian cookies at Christmas.
