OSWEGO, NY – Florence Jean Tonkin, 80, a resident of Oswego, passed away on Saturday August 15, 2015, at the Seneca Hill Manor.
Born in Oswego, she was a daughter of the late John and Jessie (Arroway) Wallace and was a graduate of Oswego High School.
She was employed with Nestle’s, General Electric and Metropolitan Water Board.
She enjoyed spending her time with her family and loved to go shopping.
Surviving are her daughter, Theresa (Dennis) Wallace of Oswego; her son, Richard (Antoinette) Tonkin of Oswego; a sister, Frances McLaughlin; two brothers, Thomas Wallace and Richard Wallace; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her husband, Richard Tonkin, in 1980; and her daughter, Kathy Vandish. in 2008.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. from the Dowdle Funeral Home.
Burial will be in St.Peter’s Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday from 6 – 8 p.m.

Sad to hear of Aunt Jeanie’s passing. I remember her always being super-nice to us when we used to go there rabbit hunting years ago with the old man & uncle Dave, RIP Aunt Jeanie!
