Jacob F. ‘Jake’ Moyer, 80

OSWEGO, NY – Jacob F. “Jake” Moyer, 80, a former resident of the Oswego area, passed away on December 13, 2015, in Orlando, Florida.

Born in Allentown, Pa., he was the son of the late Albert and Katie (Miller) Nagle and had attended schools in Allentown.

He was employed with Sealright for 15 years, was a member of the Oswego Police Department for 14 years and later retired from the FitzPatrick power plant after 15 years.

Mr. Moyer was a veteran of the United States Army, serving from 1952-1957.

He was a member of the VFW #5885, Oswego and VFW Post #4287 where he served as senior vice president as well as District 18 Chaplin.

He was an active member in Semper Fidelis America, Orlando.

Jake was a member of the Fraternal Order of Police, as well as the past president of the Lake City Police Club, and enjoyed woodworking and travel.

Surviving are his two daughters, Susanne Delong and Judith Mollo both of Florida.

He was predeceased by his wife, Carolyn Moyer; and his son, William Moyer.

Graveside services will be held on Friday, September 9 at 10 a.m. at Peck’s Cemetery.
