Joyce B. Riley, 84

OSWEGO, NY – Joyce B. Riley, 84, a resident of Oswego, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family on Sunday Jan. 8, 2012, the date of her 63rd wedding anniversary.

Born in Utica, NY, she was the daughter of the late John and Stella Branagh.

She was predeceased by her loving husband, Dr. John B Riley, in 2009; and her dear brother, Robert Branagh of Ohio, in 2011.

Joyce attended Whitesboro High School and graduated as a Registered Nurse from The University of Rochester School of Nursing.

Although she did not make nursing her lifelong career, her loving, caring, and nurturing manner was utilized in raising her six children.

Joyce was truly a warm, kind and gracious woman who was devoted wholeheartedly to her family.

Her gift of hospitality was evidenced by anyone who entered her home and was greeted by her warm smile.

Joyce was a devout Catholic who lived out her faith.

She enjoyed golf and was a longtime member of the Oswego Country Club.

She served on the Oswego Hospital Auxiliary and with the Red Cross.

She is survived by her children, Kevin (Lynda) Riley of Syracuse, Meg Riley Davis
of Canton, Tim (Tracy) Riley of Saratoga Springs, Trish (Joe) Muchynski of Stoney
Creek Canada, Michael (Elizabeth) Riley and Katie (Ken) Rinoldo both of Oswego; and her loving sister, Jane Wildhack of Utica.

She was the proud grandmother of 20
grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

There will be no calling hours.

A funeral mass will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at St Mary’s Church, Oswego.
