Kirsten Crain

OSWEGO, NY – Kirsten Crain, a resident of Oswego, and the beloved wife of Anthony Crain, passed away on Tuesday May 17, 2016, surrounded by her family and in the arms of her loving husband.

Born in Bergen, Norway, Kirsten was the daughter of the late Nicholas and Bertha Saeterdal and was predeceased by her brother, Kare Saeterdal.

She received her B.A. in German from the State University of Oswego.

Kirsten was employed with Bauch and Lomb in Rochester, was the financial officer at Craig Chevrolet in Potsdam and she taught German at the Pueblo Junior College in Pueblo, Colorado.

A lifelong learner, her activities ranged from teaching German, to ceramics, painting and cooking.

She loved to read and was a long time member of the Oswego Winter Club.

Her generous and loving spirit always made the home a welcoming place for friends to visit and she loved spending time with her family.

Surviving are her husband of 63 years, Anthony Crain; her daughter, Colleen (Ted) Kires of Syracuse; a son, Steven (Maritza) Crain of Syracuse; and her grandchildren, Stephen and Kirsten Kires.

Friends may call at the Dowdle Funeral Home on Sunday from 2 – 5 p.m. with a service to follow the hours.
