Patrick J. Kavanaugh, 66

OSWEGO, NY – Patrick J. Kavanaugh, 66, a resident of Oswego, passed away on Sunday September 17, 2017, at the St.Joseph’s Hospital in Syracuse.

Born in Syracuse, he was a son of the late Francis Kavanaugh and Laura Jeanne (Bradley) Kavanaugh of Oswego.

He was employed with Amedio’s Trucking for many years.

He was a member of the Sons of the Civil War, American Legion #268, VFW #5885 and the Ancient Order of the Hibernians.

Mr. Kavanaugh was well-known for having a coffee in his hand and a smile on his face while making his daily crossings over the Utica Street Bridge.

Surviving besides his mother are his brother, Clifford Kavanaugh of Oswego; three sisters, Georgeanna Kavanaugh of Tuscon, Arizona, Roxanna (Tom) Gillen of Oswego and Jeanne (Dan) Wayman of Oswego; nieces,nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.

Funeral services are private and at the convenience of the family.

There are no calling hours.

Arrangements are in care of the Dowdle Funeral Home.
