OSWEGO, NY – Robert J. Hillman Jr., 73, a resident of Scriba, passed away peacefully on Wednesday September 5, 2012, at St.Joseph’s Hospital in Syracuse.
Born in Scriba, he was the son of the late Robert and Isabel (Thompson) Hillman and was a graduate of Oswego High School.
Robert was employed with Hammermill and was an avid traveler.
Surviving are his wife of 38 years, the former Patricia Cuyler; four sisters, Shirley Guerney of Lake Havasu Ariz., Jeanne Smith of Oswego, Patricia Niver of Fulton and Grace Hillman of Swedesboro N.J.; seven children; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services are private and at the convenience of the family.
There are no calling hours.

My condolences to Bob’s family. I grew up with Bob in Lycoming. He was a good friend. Bob and I spent many winter nights in Newton Coe’s store sitting by the pot-bellied stove listening to the Syracuse Nationals play basketball.
