FULTON, NY – Alfred “Al” P. Greco, longtime Fulton businessman, passed away on Wednesday March 1, 2013, at the age of 96.
Born in Brooklyn to Rosario and Teresa (Vitale) Greco, Al was blessed to be the last survivor of their 13 children.
Al proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy during World War II and was assigned to the USS Scott.
Al had been employed by Hunter Arms, Nestle, New Process Gear, local machine shops and Radcliff Construction.
He worked on the St. Lawrence Seaway Project while a Union Boiler Maker.
Al was married for 65 years to Rose Virgo Greco who predeceased him in 2005.
Together as grower and floral designer, they opened a floral business, Al’s Florist Shop, in the 1950s.
He was a member of the Fulton Chamber of Commerce and a communicant of Holy Trinity Parish.
He enjoyed simple pleasures like home grown vegetables, a day in the garden, fishing, riding his tractor and working on anything wood or mechanical.
Al was an inspiration to others on growing old with dignity, humor and a keen appreciation of life.
Surviving are his son, Alfred R. (Joyce) Greco of Macedon, NY,; and daughter, Gayle (Gene) Manley of Raleigh, NC; four grandchildren, Randal Greco of Palmyra, Brenda Leuzzi of Fairport, Alfred M. Greco of Raleigh and Steven Greco of Raleigh; eight great-grandchildren; and numerous beloved nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 9:30 a.m. Saturday, May 11 at Holy Trinity Parish, corner of Rochester and South Third streets, Fulton, with burial at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Fulton.

Fred, Gayle and family…So sorry to hear of your dad’s passing. I remember many good times at your home as we grew up. He was always kind, but mostly I remember his smile. My sincere condolences.
