Betty Jane Stoutenger Giuffrida, 89

HANNIBAL, NY – Betty Jane (Stoutenger) Giuffrida, 89, of Ira, passed away on Sunday May 15, 2016, at home surrounded by her family.

She was born on May 18, 1926, in Fulton, a daughter to the late Floyd and Villa Mangus Stoutenger.

Mrs. Giuffrida owned and operated a family farm for years and then worked for the U.S. Postal service as a rural letter carrier in Hannibal.

Over the last several years she enjoyed spending the winters in Zephyrhills, Florida, and the summers home with family and friends.

Mrs. Giuffrida was a member of the Hannibal Ladies’ Fire Auxiliary.

She was also a member of Cato, Volney and Phoenix Senior Citizens.

She was predeceased by her husband, Rosario A. Giuffrida; and brother, Donald Stoutenger.

She will be greatly missed and forever loved by her two children, Jane (Anthony) Rector of Ogdensburg and Jack (Denise) Giuffrida of Cato; and four grandsons, Anthony, Joseph, Austin and Matthew.

Calling hours will be Tuesday, May 17, from 4 to 7 p.m. at Foster Funeral Home, 837 Cayuga St., Hannibal.

Immediately following will be a service 7 p.m. at the funeral home.

Burial will be in Ira Union Cemetery.

For those wishing, memorials may be made to Hospice of the Finger Lakes, 1130 Corporate Drive, Auburn, NY 13021, in Mrs. Giuffrida’s memory.

We know you will miss her always but we hope your memories of the years you spent with her lessen your pain of loss as the years go by. She will forever be in our hearts.
