David W. Whitcomb, 82

HANNIBAL, NY – David W. Whitcomb, 82, of  Hannibal, passed away on Tuesday February 14, 2017, at Crouse Hospital in Syracuse, surrounded by his family.

A long-time resident of Hannibal, he was a lifetime member of the Pathfinder Fish and Game Club.

Dave was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting, fishing and skeet shooting.

He was a man who could truly see the forest through the trees.

He was also a fan of NASCAR #24.

David was predeceased by his parents, David A. and Thelma (Tafel) Lindsey and Myrtle Whitcomb.

Surviving are his wife of 42 years, Donna Whitcomb; four children, Scott (Cindy) Whitcomb of  Liverpool, Lindsey (Ellen) Whitcomb of Liverpool, Brian (Linda) Whitcomb of Fayetteville and Laura Shoults (Ray) of Hannibal; brother, Wendell (Bud) Powers of Oswegatchie; sister, Patricia Gray of Baldwinsville; nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Calling hours will be 4 to 6 p.m. on Saturday, February 18, at Foster Funeral Home, 837 Cayuga St., Hannibal.
