FULTON, NY – Earl A. Lockwood Sr., 84, of Volney, passed away on Tuesday May 10, 2016, at home.

He was born on October 15, 1931, in Fulton, a son to the late Charles and Margaret Rowlee Lockwood.

Earl was a veteran of the US Air Force serving from 1950-1954.

He was a member of Mount Pleasant United Methodist Church and The Board of Elections Town of Volney.

Earl retired from Alcan Aluminum in Oswego after almost 25 years of service.

He was very active in the Boy Scout Troop 761 in Mount Pleasant where he had received the Boy Scout Silver Beaver Award in 1997.

Earl also served as committee chairman of the Boy Scouts Troop 761 for many years.

He was predeceased by his wife of 49 years, Delores Dawn; and two siblings, Shirley and Neal.

He will be greatly missed and forever loved by his three sons, Earl (Bobbie Welch) Jr., of North Carolina, Terry (Dorothy) of Fulton and Larry (Jeri) of Fulton; six grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; three siblings, Gerald, Dennis and Jean all of Volney; as well as several nieces and nephews.

Calling hours will be held on Monday, May 16, from 4 to 7 p.m. at Foster Funeral Home, 910 Fay St., Fulton.

A funeral service will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home.

Burial will be at Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Volney.

  1. Sorry for your loss your dad was a great man and a good scoutmaster. We all had a lot of fun with him, Marty, & Bill Yardley in Boyscouts. Good memories that will last forever. My thoughts & Prayers are with you all.
