Evelyn L. McDonald, 80, of Volney passed away suddenly on September 6, 2010.

Evelyn moved from Michigan as a young girl and attended Phoenix schools. She loved to play softball and in her later years loved going to the Turning Stone. She will be sorely missed by the Oneida Indians. She married Robert McDonald and they worked the Don Haven Farms until they retired in 1988. Evelyn will be fondly remembered for her feisty and tenacious personally and her apple pies.

She is survived by her children, Mike McDonald, Martha (Dino) Latino, Christine (Greg) LaFrate, Patricia (Randy) Pellis and Beverly (Al) Mills; 14 grandchildren; 5 adopted grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; a brother, Richard Brown.

Family and friends will be gathering at the farm all day Saturday, September 11th starting at 11 a.m. to celebrate her life. Donations may be made in Evelyn’s name to the National Alliance of Families, P.O. Box 40327, Bellevue, WA 98015 or to a charity of your choice.

  1. Evelyn also loved camping, fishing and gardening. There was alot more to her life that just the casino and she will be missed by alot more people that just the oneida indians 🙁
